Teddy Bear Hospital (FREE EVENT)
Mission of the Teddy Bear Hospital –
“Familiarize and education of community children regarding what happens at the hospital to alleviate fears.”
Teddy Bear hospital is set up so that children bring their personal stuffed animals to a “mock hospital” to receive medical care in a fun, non-threatening way. The Teddy Bear Hospital at Memorial Health is set to take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday April 5th at the Ronald McDonald House parking lot on the MUMC campus.
Children ages 10 and under can bring their favorite teddy bear, doll or stuffed animal through the mock hospital. They will learn some of the ways that hospitals help children to feel better. Doctors, nurses and technicians will perform various procedures on the toys, including x-rays, lab tests and surgery. The fun environment will allow children to get a better understating of how hospitals work.
Representatives from The Children's Hospital at MUMC, SafeKids of Savannah, Coastal Pet Therapy, Children's Miracle Network Hospitals, Reach Out and Read, RMHC Care Mobile, Leukemia Society, Painting for Hope, Kids on the Run, Small Smiles Dentistry, Children’s Hospital Wellness, Angel One, the Savannah Fire and Police Department and of course, Ronald McDonald himself…and many more surprises!!!
