The Cart With Heart

Ronald McDonald Hospitality Cart

Hospitality Cart

Comfort That Comes to the Bedside

When a child is hospitalized, families rarely leave the unit.

Meals are skipped.
Personal items are forgotten.
Parents go hours without rest.

The Hospitality Cart brings comfort directly to families inside the hospital — meeting them where they are, when they need it most.

It is care in motion.

Serving Families in Real Time

As our team moves through pediatric units, families receive:

  • Snacks and beverages (including popsicles for those with dietary restrictions)
  • Basic toiletries, personal care items
  • Clothing
  • Comfort items for children, including LEGO® sets, a favorite among young patients thanks to our partnership with the Starlight Foundation
  • A moment of encouragement during an exhausting day

These small gestures matter.

A LEGO set can mean distraction during a long infusion.
A snack can mean the first meal a parent has had all day.

Because when parents won’t leave their child’s bedside, support must come to them.

Made Possible by Community Leadership

Our first Hospitality Cart launched on Valentine’s Day 2022, serving families inside the children’s hospital, made possible through the generous leadership of The One Hundred Children’s Foundation.

On January 1, 2026, a second Hospitality Cart began serving families in the NICU, thanks to the commitment and support of the Kiwanis Club of Skidaway.

These partnerships represent what happens when community organizations step forward to meet a growing need.

Together, we are expanding the ways families can stay close, and feel supported, even inside hospital walls.

Extending the Mission Beyond the House

Not every family needs an overnight stay.

But every family navigating hospitalization deserves support.

The Hospitality Cart ensures that whether families are staying at our House, waiting for a room, or remaining inside the hospital, they are not alone.

How You Can Support the Hospitality Cart

Financial contributions, donated comfort items, and volunteer engagement keep our carts stocked and moving.

Every gift strengthens our ability to meet families at the bedside right when they need it most.
