Two Programs… One Mission

Ronald McDonald House Coastal Empire offers two distinct teen leadership opportunities for high school students who want to serve families facing medical crisis.

These programs are designed to grow service-minded students into confident leaders while strengthening our mission in the community.

Volun-Teen

For Freshmen & Sophomores

The Volun-Teen program introduces younger high school students to hands-on service and mission awareness.

Volun-Teens:

• Volunteer at the House and Family Rooms
• Assist with service projects and events
• Support fundraising initiatives
• Learn about nonprofit leadership and community advocacy

Yellow Shoe Crew

For Juniors & Seniors

The Yellow Shoe Crew is our advanced teen leadership board.

These students take on greater responsibility as ambassadors of Ronald McDonald House Coastal Empire- advocating, fundraising, and representing the mission throughout the community.

Yellow Shoe Crew members:

• Serve in visible leadership roles
• Volunteer at the Ronald McDonald House and Family Rooms
• Help lead outreach and awareness efforts
• Support major events and fundraising
• Mentor younger volunteers
• Strengthen partnerships within their schools

This is more than volunteer service- it is leadership development.

Apply for the 2026–2027 School Year

Applications for both Teen Boards are open now.

Application Deadline:
July 31, 2026

Applications must be submitted in full at one time. Incomplete or late applications will not be considered.

Applicants will be notified following the review period.
