How to Stay
When a child is facing serious illness or injury, families need to be close.
Ronald McDonald House Coastal Empire provides accommodations for families with a child (up to age 22) receiving medical care at a Savannah-area hospital or medical center.
Our House exists to support families navigating critical pediatric care, ensuring they can stay near their child during treatment.
What Families Receive
During their stay, families are provided:
- A private guest room and bathroom
- Meals and snacks
- Laundry facilities
- Shared kitchen and living spaces
- Supportive community and on-site assistance
There is no charge for families to stay. While the actual cost of care exceeds $150 per night, stays are made possible through the generosity of our community.
How the Referral Process Works
All stays begin with a referral from a hospital social worker or medical professional.
Rooms are not assigned on a first-come, first-served basis. Each referral is reviewed individually, with priority given first to medical urgency and second to travel distance.
Accommodations are reserved for family members actively involved in the child’s daily care.
All guest families must complete required paperwork and consent to a background check prior to check-in.
If the birth mother is under 18 years of age, a parent or legal guardian must remain with her during the stay.
